I’m a woman, a mom, a cooking and baking enthusiast, and a lover of coffee, wine, and sarcasm. Originally from Brooklyn, I now live on the lovely Island of Staten in NY. I am the mother of three beautiful girls (one in college, one in high school, and one in elementary school). Collectively, they have taught me more about life and love than I ever thought possible. They are the reason I went on when I lost my husband in 2003. They are my world and I couldn’t be more proud of each of them. I am enjoying the evolutionary process of motherhood, often through the eyes of and the experiences with my girls.
About This Site
This blog is where I express myself. I have a lot of opinions! I don’t purport to be an expert on anything. I’m just here sharing my own experiences and thoughts with you. I have a genuine love for the written word, which is why I enjoy reading and writing so much. Expressing myself through writing is one of the greatest joys of my life. I write about things I’m passionate about – so you’ll see a lot of stuff about my family on here. I love my family more than life itself. Feel free to let me know if there’s something specific you’d like me to comment on. I’m happy to share my opinions with you!
I’m a graduate of Marymount Manhattan College, class of 1991. BA in English. After graduation I had a lot of trouble getting a job (not a lot of demand for English majors) so I took a tax prep course and started working with my dad. I did that, literally, until the day my first daughter was born. I enjoyed being a stay-at-home mommy for a long time. After the passing of my first husband, I returned to school and earned an MS in Education at the College of Staten Island, class of 2008. I enjoyed teaching English to high school freshmen and sophomores. My third daughter was born with many severe food allergies and sensitivities, which caused me to return to my passion for cooking and baking. I recreate all my favorite dishes in an allergy friendly kitchen so they are safe for my daughter to enjoy. In 2017, I passed the NYS Real Estate Licensing exam and have recently embarked on a new adventure as a Real Estate Salesperson.
